Material Service Representatives are required to receive, identify, locate and retrieve materials across the facility.  Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Responsible for tallying types and quantities of items against receiving reports, material move tags, packing slips, packing lists and shipping documents
  • Locates material according to size, shape, weight or stock number and palletize material securely to pallet boxes, etc.
  • Will be required to operate precise cutting equipment & tools including band saws, abrasive saws, shears, etc.
  • Candidate will be required to operate sophisticated forklift equipment
  • Responsible for processing work on tablets

 

This is a SECOND or THIRD shift position located at the Quonset Point facility in North Kingstown, RI.

Qualifications

Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent 
  • 1 year previous inventory control experience
  • Candidates must have a valid driver's license and be able to obtain a license for Side loaders, Wire Guided, 4 Directional, Electric, and/or Propane forklifts with a capacity that has yet to be determined in a timely fashion
  • Candidate must be able to obtain an EB forklift license within 6 months of being hired
  • Candidate must be able to conduct precise measurements using tape measure, etc.
  • Strong math skills are required; candidates must be able to convert Square Inch to Square foot and Square foot to Square inch
  • Candidates must be proficient in MS Office
  • Candidates must have the ability to work with wireless hand held and tablet devices
  • This position may require work to be performed outside and in extreme temperature and weather conditions as required; involves adverse weather conditions (heat/cold/snow/rain/wind, etc.) 
  • Must be able to work at heights
  • Must be available to work all shifts 

Preferred:

  • Vocational, Technical and Community Colleges or Apprentice programs
  • Basic knowledge of MRP/ material tracking system 
  • Previous Forklift or experience with material handling equipment 
  • Ability to operate various cutting equipment such as shears, band saws, etc.
  • Military/Navy experience
  • Previous military shipbuilding experience

Skills

  • Must have strong commitment toward safety and must be able to handle/lift heavy items within safety guidelines
  • Applicant will be required to work in a collaborative and team environment and meet organizational goals
