This position supports the Strategic Weapons System (SWS) for the COLUMBIA class construction, test, and integration of SWS/SWSS equipment in Groton, CT.This position is a 2nd shift position, candidate must be able to work 2nd shift hours.
Responsibilities include:
- Coordinate with and provide deckplate support to operations, planning, and ship’s management personnel to ensure proper engineering support for execution of construction, installation and test activities associated with the SWS and the Strategic Weapons Support Systems (SWSS) equipment.
- Reach back to Groton/New London engineering and design personnel to support timely resolution of issues identified during SWSS construction, SWS GFE integration and/or conduct of SWS Test Procedures.
- Utilize Change various liabilities reporting tools to identify, initiate, and disposition problems to SWS Government Furnished Equipment (GFE) and Government Furnished Information (GFI) including Installation and Construction materials. Liabilities used: CR/CN, TIRs, CPRs, TCRs, TCIs.
- Coordination of SWS Contractor support for SWS equipment installation and test
- Strong desire to learn and mentor other engineers and other organizations within and outside of the SWS Program Office.
- Define and develop installation and test planning and sequencing, review and correct Work Orders to ensure proper requirements are met for installation and test of the SWS/SWSS.
