Training Department 973– Pipe Welding Instructor – 3rd Shift
QP Training (D973) is currently looking for an organized, self-motivated Pipe Welding Instructor for the Training School. This position will report to the Supervisor of the Weld School and play an integral role in the training and qualification of Welding students.
The Welding Instructor will be part of a team, responsible for the training of students in various courses related to general safety various welding process and wire types, as well as additional welding related requirements. Qualified candidates will have a strong sense of commitment to Safety and Procedure Compliance, be a self-starter and possess strong verbal & written communication skills. Candidates must also possess the ability to multi-task with a friendly, approachable customer service demeanor.
Responsibilities & Duties - The responsibilities & duties include but are not limited to:
- Instructing multiple Welding related classroom courses including Workmanship, MDD-01464, and Safety Briefs
- Directing and assessing hands on training with practice and tests
- Enforcing safety rules and regulations in training and during deck plate audits
- Assessing student performance & identifying nonconformance to policies, procedures and technical documents
- Supporting various course content reviews and related activities
- Conducting assessments as scheduled
- Meeting with HR Business Partners regarding student performance as needed
- Consistently grade tests and quizzes to ensure knowledge capture and understanding of training topics
- Communicate with other Training shifts to advance work and communicate issues
- Supporting special training projects as required
- Support the Training department goals and objectives with other responsibilities as assigned
- Support QP’s development and implementation of the Lifting and Handling ALC Active Learning center.
- Will be supporting Nuclear Structural training and Nuclear Structural training for Welders.
Work Schedule – The selected candidate will be expected to work the following work schedule:
- General 1st shift hours (6:00am – 2:30 pm with flexibility to adjust hours as necessary to support business need
- Ability to work additional overtime as directed (including weekends)
- The individual must be flexible to support short term training assignments on all shifts as needed
