Overview

D451 COLUMBIA Instrumentation is looking for an engineer to join our COLUMBIA Class data acquisition hardware team. Responsibilities include the development of data acquisition systems based on test form and internal system design specification requirements, creating engineering sketches to guide system installation and test execution, and participating in validation and verification efforts for the acquisition systems. You will work directly with a dedicated team of in-house technicians to build and test the product. Responsibilities will eventually shift to coordinating implementation and use of these systems shipboard as we begin the COLUMBIA Class test program. This position provides the unique opportunity to personally design and build the systems you will come to rely on in the future!

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related technical field 
  • 0-4 years of professional engineering experience

Preferred:

  • Experience working with data acquisition systems or sensors
  • Experience working with National Instruments products (e.g. cDAQ)
  • Experience designing electrical components and/or circuit boards
  • Experience with qualifying new or modified products to ensure they function properly and meet specification

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be willing and able to work in both an office environment and a shipboard/shipyard environment
