Description of the Position
QP Training (D973) is looking for an organized, team orientated, and safety conscious individual for a supervisory position on 3rd shift. Reporting to the Chief of Operations Training, this individual will work closely with the weld school supervisors on both 1st & 2nd shift and will play an important role in the training and qualification of students on 3rd shift. By leading an instructor team, the weld school supervisor will ultimately be responsible for the delivery of training to students in a variety of training courses including multiple welding processes and wire types as well as the safety/quality performance on 3rd shift. Candidates must possess the ability to multi-task with an approachable, team building demeanor while at the same time setting expectations for staff and students to deliver strong reliable performance.
Responsibilities & Duties - The responsibilities & duties include but are not limited to:
- Lead multiple instructors in different work locations by assessing, prioritizing, assigning & taking appropriate actions to provide daily tasking & performance management
- Ensuring alignment with safety, quality, and work performance standards
- Guide the effective delivery of training in accordance with applicable lesson plans, standards & technical documents
- Enforce safety practices, work procedures & compliance with applicable company polices
- Communicate with training groups on other shifts to advance work, support assignments, and communicate issues
- Create & drive process improvement initiatives
- Testing Material Inventory management
- Create and engage with internal & external teams to drive staff development activities
- Meet with HR Business Partners regarding employee & student performance
- Interface with stakeholders to ensure weld school execution meets needs
- Ensure the shift operates in alignment with EB Core Values
- Implement training’s mission, goals, vision & purpose
- Additional related responsibilities as assigned
Work Schedule – The position is generally planned to work the following schedule:
- 3rd shift hours approximately (11:00pm – 7:30am) with flexibility to adjust hours as necessary to support teaming activities and business need
- Including short term training assignments on other shifts as needed
- Ability to work overtime as directed (including weekends)
- Formal business travel – less than 10%
