Shippers are responsible for receiving, identifying, locating, verifying, and retrieving material. 

 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Tallying types and quantities of items against receiving reports, material move tags, Electronic Desktop move and pick lists, packing slips, packing lists and shipping documents
  • Locating material according to size, shape, weight or stock number and palletizing material securely to pallet boxes in accordance with the code of federal regulations
  • Operation of electric, propane or diesel forklifts is required regularly
  • Candidates will be required to package material to level C standard which includes building and assembling shipping crates and containers using basic hand, power and pneumatic tools
  • Candidates should have a basic understanding of material control,  MRP II, electronic desktop, and  inventory tracking system
  • This position requires a strong physical demand and includes lifting and handling light to heavy items within safety guidelines

This position is located at the Quonset Point facility in North Kingstown, RI.

Qualifications

Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent 
  • Previous warehousing, shipping and/or receiving experience 
  • This position requires a strong physical demand and includes lifting and handling light to heavy items within safety guidelines
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Candidates must have knowledge of proficiently operating power tools 
  • Candidates must be able to obtain a license for electric, propane or diesel forklifts with a capacity of up to 8 thousand lbs. within 6 months 
  • Must be available to work all shifts and work in extreme temperatures and weather conditions as required
  • This position may require work to be performed outside which potentially entails adverse weather conditions (heat/cold/snow/rain/wind etc.) 

Preferred:

  • Experience with the use of pneumatic tools, table saws, and basic hand tools
  • Vocational, Technical and Community Colleges or Apprentice programs
  • Knowledge of MRP/material tracking system 
  • Knowledge of blueprint reading
  • Military/Navy experience
  • Knowledge and understanding of CFR 49

  • Must possess basic mathematical, communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Must have a strong commitment toward safety
  • Applicant will be required to work in a collaborative and team environment and meet organizational goals as well as department and company specific process improvement goals
