The selected candidate will be responsible primarily for ensuring daily regulatory compliance of OSHA recordkeeping (29 CFR 1904) for the Groton Shipyard and Quonset Point Facility as well as Electric Boat off sites. Responsibilities include, but not limited to, database management, safety metric compilation, data collection, and ISO 45001 program management. In addition, the job will require the employee to interpret regulations as they apply to work processes, recordkeeping standards and other processes, practices and procedures. Investigation and resolving of compliance problems, questions, or complaints received from other units of the company, customers, government regulatory agencies, etc.
This individual will interface routinely with other members in the department as well as medical and worker’s compensation personnel. The selected candidate will be assigned to the Groton Shipyard, but will be required to travel to Quonset Point. The position requires strong interpersonal skills that demonstrate confidence and knowledge. Strong attention to detail is required. Database management knowledge is also required. Candidate will be expected to develop a working knowledge of State and Federal environmental regulations and how these regulations are applied in an industrial facility.
