Overview

Department 779 - Florence Site (Steel Fab) has on opening for a highly motivated General Foreman. 

 

The successful Candidate will be responsible for the Supervision of upwards of 50+ Employees including Supervisors, Engineers, Planners, Material Personnel, and Shipyard Trades.

 

The Candidate will ensure work is performed efficiently and in accordance with Drawings/Work Procedures and Company Policies and Procedures. Candidate must be willing to travel to and from Vendor Facilities, other Shipyards and accept extended work assignments.

 

Candidate must be experienced in COLUMBIA and VIRGINIA Class Processes, Special Emphasis Program (SEP). The Candidate is expected to contribute to the improvement of Site Goals for Safety, Quality, Cost, Schedule, and Continuous Improvement.

 

Individual selected for this position will be the Senior Electric Boat Representative for the Project assigned. Take responsibility for Mentoring of new Foremen. Ensure Foremen and Tradesmen have the necessary training requirements to perform their job assignments and ensure all Procedures/Documents are adhered to. This position is the most visible EB presence and individual selected must demonstrate the highest degree of Leadership and Accountability for the entire team.

 

Qualifications

Required:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 10+ years Shipyard involvement submarines in steel trades.
  • Detailed knowledge of progressing work orders from start to close out, while supporting schedule and cost performance.
  • 3+ years of experience as a supervisor or above 
  • Experience with EWP, ERS, ERs, MDDs, SDDs, DIs and Sis
  • Candidate must pass a background check


Preferred:

  • At least Five Years Supervisory/Foreman experience in steel trade Submarine construction
  • Experience in multi-trade disciplines is preferred (pipe, electrical, structural, mechanical)
  • Background in new construction
  • Experience with MS Office (Excel and Project) software
  • Prior US Navy experience
