Overview

Overview

This is a non-supervisory procurement position within the Information Technology Department sourcing items such as Hardware, Software, Licensing Agreements, and Professional Services.  Information Technology, working together with the Materials Management Organization, is seeking a candidate that will be responsible for all aspects of Materials Management and supplier interface. This is an on-site position located in Groton, CT at the Poheganut office.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with development and implementation of procedures to guide technology sourcing
  • Respond to internal requisitions for technology products and services in accordance with existing company and departmental policies
  • Manage supplier relationships and act as primary point of contact to ensure continuity of technology goods and services
  • Develop and execute negotiation strategies to achieve financial savings and mitigate company risk
  • Responsible for bid development, cost/price analysis, composing purchase orders, & budget management, all in accordance with EB acquisition policies and procedures
  • Set standards across EB and with suppliers of professionalism, sound judgement and fairness
  • Maintain a working knowledge of applicable federal regulations and internal policies and procedures to enable conformity through daily function
  • Prepare well-written, succinct and compliant approval packages for management approval

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or Finance
  • 0-8 years of experience in Materials Acquisition

Preferred:

  • Experience working in a highly-regulated industry such as DOD contracting

Skills

  • Capable of independently negotiating pricing and terms with technology providers
  • Desire to learn and master processes
  • Experience supporting and guiding professional colleagues
  • Evaluate, select, and on-board new suppliers based on financial risk analysis, performance review, and the ability to meet necessary requirements to contract with EB
  • Detail oriented and have excellent organizational skills, with a demonstrated strong work ethic for completing tasks and assignments according to schedule
  • Strong problem solving skills 
  • Strong negotiation and contract management skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team oriented environment
  • Ability to build relationships across all departments and levels within organization
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
  • Proficiency with MS Office
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional projects and teams
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage supplier invoicing to ensure payment terms and performance milestones are met
