  • Work on the design, implementation, and optimization of electric motors and generators.
  • Utilize MATLAB and Simulink for data processing, model development, and system simulation.
  • Develop and implement power system solutions, including protective relaying and control strategies for efficient system operation.
  • Collaborate with other engineering teams to ensure compliance with technical specifications and project requirements.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in electrical power systems engineering, with specific expertise in DC and AC power systems.
  • Electrical Power Systems Engineering: Strong experience in power system analysis, including fault and system stability analysis for both AC and DC power distribution systems.
  • DC Switchgear: Expertise in the design of protective devices such as circuit breakers and fuses for DC systems.
  • Electric Motors and Generators: In-depth knowledge of the design, operation, and optimization of electric motors and generators.
  • MATLAB and Simulink: Proficiency in MATLAB and Simulink for data processing, simulation, and model development.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Power System Protection and Relaying: Experience in power system protection techniques, including relay coordination and fault protection strategies.
  • Control Systems Design: Knowledge in designing control systems for power systems, including automatic control of electrical equipment.
  • Solid State Power Conversion Equipment: Experience with the design and control of solid-state power conversion equipment, including DC/DC converters and DC/AC inverters.
  • Requirements Development & Maintenance: Familiarity with IBM DOORS for managing requirements, and ensuring traceability and compliance throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Collaboration Tools: Experience with JIRA, Confluence, and GIT for project tracking, documentation, and version control.

Skills

  • Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Exceptional ability to analyze complex power systems and identify innovative solutions to challenging engineering problems. Ability to assess multiple system variables and propose optimized solutions for fault analysis, stability, and performance issues.
  • Team Collaboration and Communication: Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams, collaborating with electrical, mechanical, and software engineers. Strong interpersonal skills to communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders clearly and concisely.
  • Technical Documentation: Expertise in creating and maintaining detailed technical documentation, including system specifications, engineering reports, and design manuals. Ability to translate technical information into clear, comprehensive documents for various audiences, including stakeholders and regulatory bodies.
  • Attention to Detail: Precision in performing simulations, conducting analyses, and ensuring all designs meet performance and safety standards. A keen eye for identifying discrepancies and potential risks during the development and testing stages.
  • Quality Assurance and Compliance: Familiarity with industry standards and best practices, ensuring all designs, analyses, and systems meet required quality, safety, and regulatory standards. Experience in conducting design reviews and providing recommendations for improvements.
  • Software Proficiency: Strong working knowledge of MATLAB and Simulink for modeling, simulation, and system analysis.
