Overview

The Personnel Security group has an immediate need for motivated individuals to perform badge control and clearance duties in the Groton, CT and/or New London facilities. Administrative Clerks in the group handle administrative tasks for security functions.

 

Badge control responsibilities include:

  • Process all visit requests for incoming visitors and traveling employees
  • Create badges for visitors and employees.
  • Develop and implement process improvement initiatives.
  • Act as the main point of contact for internal and external customers for site access and ensure compliance with the security policies and procedures as it pertains to visitor management.

Clearance responsibilities include all aspects of processing, submitting, and maintaining DoD security clearance applications:

  • Updating clearance records in the system of record
  • Fingerprinting applicants
  • Discrepancy reporting

Individual must possess excellent organization skills and ability to effectively interact with staff at all levels. The ability to work independently and make conscious decisions in a high volume environment is integral to this position.

 

Successful candidates will be assigned to either badge control or clearances based on need within the group.

 

Other related duties will be assigned as required.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • HS Diploma or Ged 

  • 5+ years of administrative experience 
  • Experience in a customer service organization
  • Knowledge of computer programs including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • College degree
  • Experience with Defense Information System for Security (DISS) and/or National Background Investigation Services (NBIS)
  • Experience performing similar duties in an industrial DoD environment
  • Knowledge of NISPOM Rule requirements for processing security clearances and visit requests

Successful candidates will:

  • Be able to work independently in a fast paced and challenging environment and have experience working on multi-functional teams.
  • Be detail oriented

A flexible schedule and overtime may be required.
