Overview

The COLUMBIA Program Office is seeking a highly qualified candidate to take on a Program Supervisor position to interface with the Strategic Sourcing Program Office and provide program management and oversight of Focus Factory work execution for COLUMBIA.  Our program is the US Navy’s highest acquisition priority, and effective execution of the program is required to deliver the COLUMBIA Class submarines and safeguard our national security for decades to come.  Playing a key role in the management and execution of the COLUMBIA Class submarine program will be an exciting and rewarding challenge for the selected candidate.

The Program Supervisor will lead efforts associated with COLUMBIA Class work at the Focus Factories developing and maintaining construction metrics, data analysis and internal and external briefings.  The Program Supervisor will lead a team of approximately 2-3 Construction Program Representatives (CPRs) and be responsible for ensuring functional areas of EB are achieving program objectives by continuously measuring functional area performance against objectives, initiating prompt corrective action(s), and representing EB to the Navy (Ship's Force/SSGR/PMS397) for all program issues.  In addition, they will be responsible for making and approving critical decisions involving cost, schedule, quality, and continuous improvement.

The ideal candidate is well organized, an excellent communicator, thinks strategically while also being able to tactically address issues professionally.  Candidates should be self-starters, bringing new and innovative ideas to the COLUMBIA Construction Program.  The selected candidate will be responsible for leading development and delivery of program level briefs in their cognizant area.

The Program Supervisor will work directly with their program and functional area counterparts in the Strategic Sourcing Program Office and at Focus Factories, Quonset Point, Groton Shipyard and Newport News to assist in all aspects of readiness and execution of ship construction.

This is a high visibility position to shipyard and senior leadership.  Successful candidates, with experience, will be expected to engage with all levels of management to report progress, seek assistance, and manage activities.  Engagement will be throughout the waterfront organizations including Planning, Operations, Engineering, Purchasing, Test, Contracts, Finance, Ship's Force, and SSGR.  Overtime and travel to EB facilities, NNS Shipyard, and Focus Factories is expected as needed.  This position is a tremendous opportunity to bring experience from other functional or programmatic organizations of the company to the COLUMBIA Program, and contribute a key enterprise need.
