Overview

This position is for a computer programmer/data analyst to support Engineering Planning schedule development. The successful candidate will analyze data, develop processes, maintain programming applications, and produce reports/dashboards combining data from various tables and legacy execution systems. Employees will use this output to interface with all levels of management for planning and monitoring work, performing audits, and providing corporate forensics.

Responsibilities include:

 

  • Program applications, develop specifications, develop databases, write queries, and create reports/charts/dashboards
  • Convert customer requirements into clear programming specifications, test scripts, and training materials
  • Understand database fundamentals with the ability to create, modify and execute queries
  • Monitor data integrity and advocate for corrective measures
  • Communicate clearly both verbally and in writing with all levels of management
  • Create "What if" Datasets to illustrate the cost and impact of large scale reschedules 

Electric Boat offers Flexible Work Arrangements that allows some work to be performed remotely and at home. This varies from position to position based on the amount of classified material the department interacts with, as well as a few other variables. Qualifications

Required:

 

  • Must be proficient in one of the following computer programming languages: Java, Python, C/C++, C#, VBA, Visual Basic, Powershell, or equivalent
  • Must have worked as a programmer within the past four (4) years, graduated from college within the past four (4) years, or be graduating by December 2025 with related programming experience

Preferred:

 

  • Bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Analytics, or related field
  • Knowledge of advanced Excel functions, including pivot tables, charts, and macros/VBA
  • Proficiency in Power BI
  • Knowledge of database management with SQL or equivalent
  • 1+ years programming experience

Skills

  • Critical thinking, fast learning, and strong communication ability required for quick and effective integration into working environment.
