The Electric Boat D789 Motor Test Organization (MTO) located at the Compatibility Test Facility (CTF) in Philadelphia PA is seeking a qualified individual to perform the duties of the Assistant Chief Test Engineer (ACTE). The ACTE will work directly with the CTF Chief Test Engineer (CTE) to directly aide in the discharge of their duties in the management and performance of the Columbia Class Motor Module Test Program or similar test programs occurring at CTF. In the absence of the CTE, the ACTE will act as the CTE on their behalf. The ACTE will perform the following responsibilities on a daily basis:
- Act as direct supervision and daily work leader for the D789 test engineer personnel.
- Directly act on the CTE’s behalf during time of their absence and as directed by the CTE for all duties in the conduct of the test program.
- Create and distribute working schedule to test personnel on a daily basis. Work directly with the CTE and Test Manager to produce a 3-week schedule coordinating D789 test personnel.
- Must be able to support rotating shift work, often requiring being on a schedule supporting 24/7 operations.
- Plan, schedule, and coordinate Columbia Class propulsion plant system operations and testing at the CTF, vendor facilities, and contractor facilities as the CTE’s alternative Joint Test Group (JTG) or Joint Module Test Group (JMTG) representative
- Coordinate CTF test procedure review, management, and issuance along with other program documentation related to the test program.
- Ensure Test Engineer preparation for and conduct of Columbia Class propulsion system operations and testing.
- Help coordinate problem resolution efforts with Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) and other test support organizations.
