Overview

This position is for a computer programmer / data analyst to support Planning. The successful candidate will develop and maintain processes, in-house applications, reports and dashboards. These outputs will be used by Planning, Program Office, Operations, Finance, Design and all levels of management to plan and monitor work, perform audits and provide corporate forensics.

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Specification development, database development, application programming, query writing, and creation of reports and charts/dashboards.
  • Assessment of schedule quality and planning data integrity through integrated reporting
  • Converting customer requirements into clear programming specifications, test scripts and training materials.
  • Understand database fundamentals with the ability to create, modify and execute queries.
  • Analyze Planning data and advocate for corrective measures where required

Electric Boat offers Flexible Work Arrangements that allows some work to be performed remotely and at home. This varies from position to position based on the amount of classified material the department interacts with, as well as a few other variables. Qualifications

Required:

  • Must be proficient in one of the following computer programming languages: Java, Python, SQL, R, PowerShell or equivalent scripting language
  • Must have worked as a programmer within the past four (4) years or graduated from college within the past four (4) years
  • Must have four (4) years of programming or project management experience; or Bachelor's degree by December 2025 in one of the following: 
    • Management/Computer Information Systems
    • Computer Science
    • Data Science/Engineering
    • Related technical degree (BA / BS) 

Preferred:

  • Knowledge of advanced Excel functions, including pivot tables, charts, and macros/VBA
  • 2+ years of Programming/Business Processes experience
  • Experience in Project Management principles, including Critical Path Method (CPM), Project Evaluation Review Technique (PERT), and Earned Value Management (EVM)
  • Knowledge of database management with SQL or equivalent
  • Experience in Data Visualization with Excel, Power BI, Tableau, or equivalent  
  • Industry experience working in Defense or Construction
