About Department 411 - Life Cycle Support

Life Cycle Support is responsible for the identification and development of integrated logistics support (ILS) products for new acquisition and delivered ships. Life Cycle Support manages ILS planning, and the development, acquisition, integration, and delivery of applicable ILS elements necessary to design, support, and maintain a ship from concept formulation through disposal. Life Cycle Support also performs program oversight and alteration development for all Hull Planning Yard tasking on the OMNIBUS contract.

 

Role Overview

As a Life Cycle Support Program Representative, you will oversee the development of Ship Alterations (ShipAlts) to submarine components and systems. 


Key Responsibilities 

  • Obtain tasking through Task Instructions with NAVSEA
  • Coordinate efficient and effective communication between all internal and external stakeholders from the cost estimate phase through Alteration completion
  • Track and project the development and financial status of all tasking under their cognizance
  • Oversee the production of all design and ILS products to support the change
  • Drive tasking to be completed within budget and to meet the NMP-MOM schedule requirements
  • Ensure effective transfer of completed products to downstream stakeholders for material procurement and installation teams
  • Periodic travel to EB Washington Engineering Office is likely

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelors degree or 1-5 years experience in project management or related roles
  • Ability to obtain and maintain DoD security clearance

 

Preferred

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Engineering
  • Experience working on and/or managing technical/engineering projects
  • Experience in managing client relationships and handling client issues

Skills

  • Working knowledge or experience in Earned Value Management
  • Knowledge of project planning tools
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and be able to drive assigned projects to completion
  • Strong organizational/technical skills to handle multiple tasks with competing priorities in a team-oriented environment
  • Ability to manage engineering tasks/projects within defined cost and schedule baselines
  • Ability to lead a matrix assigned project team, foster consensus, and determine priorities based on needs
  • Ability to adapt to obstacles in a task, then develop and implement solutions to still achieve the goal
  • Ability to develop good working relationships with internal and external customers, all working toward the common goal of improving the fleet
