Overview

The successful candidate will report to the Manager of Material Services while under the direct mentorship and cognizance of a Supervisor of Engineering Services. 

 

This person may be a lead responsible for loading and tracking ER/MRR/UNSAT backlog data, monitor and assign VREQs, review and resolve any procurement issues for all classes; as well as coordinate any additional activities deemed necessary by Supervision and/or Management. This will involve coordinating activities with MDA employees in the department to correct software data discrepancies.  This position requires interaction with Engineering, Design Build, Planning, Procurement, Program Office, Knowledge Management, EBIT, Newport News, and the Customer.

 

This position requires knowledge of Teamcenter, CDM, JCALs, SPARs, MRP II, Common Parts Catalog, and ApplCore application capabilities.  Tasking within these business systems will include but is not limited to export and manipulation of data in Excel, querying by disclosure or drawing and/or change document for multiple revisions, and interpretation of part data changes.

 

This position also requires knowledge and experience usage within the Windows 10 operating environment in order to support collateral duties. Collateral duties will also include functioning, in a backup capacity, for releasing material feeds to procurement for the Advance Release process.

Qualifications

Required:

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent
  • 2+ years’ experience in a design build, supply chain, procurement, planning, or software analysis of technical specifications 
  • Knowledge and experience executing tasks and queries within any of the following: SPARs, CDM, Common Parts Catalog (internal EB employees), Teamcenter, JCALs, MRP II, or ApplCore applications
  • Strong aptitude and knowledge of Microsoft Applications (Word, Excel; metric reporting, PowerPoint)

Preferred:

  • Associate Degree or higher
  • Manufacturing or Operations environment

  • Good understanding of, certification requirements, and overall procurement processes
