This position is responsible for overseeing the requirements of NAVSEA 389-0288. 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:  

• Oversight of Trade performance of radiological work,
• Training and qualification of TLD-qualified personnel, conducting radiological surveys/surveillances, and supporting the radiological emergency plan. 
• The primary assignments of this position will be within the Groton shipyard and NRMD NLON, but work may be assigned at any EB site that performs radiological work. 
• This position requires independent decision-making and frequent liaison with EB Management, Trades and Navy personnel.

Required:

• High School Diploma/GED

Preferred:

• Previous RadCon Operations or Naval Nuclear Program experience
• Current or previous qualification to Article 108 RadCon Technician level
• Secondary applicable schooling
• Computer skills and MS Suite proficiency

• Applicant must pass a math-based screening exam after required and preferred are reviewed
• Applicant that has not been previously NAVSEA 389-0288, Article 106.2 qualified (Rad Con Technician) will be required to attend a 23 week Rad Con Technician Qualification School located in Virginia as part of a 42 week training period
• Applicant must have strong communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with shipyard personnel and regulatory agencies
• The selected candidate must be available to work all shifts as needed
• Applicants must apply for a DOD Security Clearance as a condition of employment. They will be required to obtain and maintain a final secret clearance to remain in this position.
