The role of HR Data Analyst on the HR Business Operations team at Electric Boat is a specialized position that combines expertise in HR systems and data modeling with strong analytical, technical and visualization skills. The individual in this role will be responsible for creating, managing, and maintaining data structures that drive HR analytics and operational efficiency across the organization.
Core Responsibilities
- Data Analysis: Design and develop logical and physical data models to support HR reporting and analytics. The data analyst will create and maintain dashboards, reports, and other data visualizations using Power BI. This employee will support and educate HR data users on how their data could be used for decision making purposes.
Types of Analytics:
- Descriptive: Explains what has happened historically.
- Diagnostic: Explains why something happened.
- Predictive: Forecasts future events or behaviors.
- Prescriptive: Recommends actions based on findings.
- Systems and integration maintenance: Manage and maintain HR application configurations and integrations, ensuring seamless data flow and accuracy between different HR systems used across Electric Boat and General Dynamics.
- Data management: Handle the development, maintenance, and execution of new data queries, as well as processes for programming applications. A key part of the role is to combine employee data from multiple sources for reporting and analysis.
- Collaboration and support: Work closely with various internal and external stakeholders, including HR centers of excellence, the IT department, Payroll, General Dynamics Corporate and vendors. The goal is to support system enhancements, upgrades, and new application implementations.
- Continuous improvement: Analyze data to identify areas for process improvements and develop new or enhanced tools for internal and external analysis.
- Health checks and data auditing: Contribute to data health checks for internal auditing of HR systems. Support the governance of HR systems in partnership with stakeholders.
