As an Intern, you'll be exposed to various engineering activities with the support of our senior staff. This program requires an 8-week commitment during the Summer 2026 Season.

Life Cycle Support (LCS) – Engineering Summer Internship

Job Description:

The Life Cycle Support (LCS) Directorate provides the U.S. Navy five-star support that increases submarine Operational Availability and Capability. We are responsible for Fleet support functions including Sustainment, Environmental, Safety, and Occupational Health, Supply Support, Engineering Analyses, Obsolescence Management, Ship Specification Development, and Configuration Management.

Life Cycle Support (LCS) Summer Interns may be responsible for the following tasks:

• Support Existing Fleet and New Construction through the technical analyses of submarine ship systems, components, materials, drawings, specifications, and other design elements.
• Technical Review of all Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) products related to alterations and equipment upgrades.
• Coordinate and issue EB responses to all emergent fleet issues via Liaison Action Requests (LAR) for all submarine classes and disciplines.
• Develop design modernization drawings and calculations for installation of new and upgraded systems and equipment.

To be qualified for this position:

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• US citizenship is required.
• Must be able to successfully pass a medically supervised drug screen and background check.
• Must be enrolled full-time at a college or university
• At minimum students must have completed their freshman year prior to the start of the internship.
• Must be available to work 40 hours per week for a minimum eight (8) consecutive weeks between May 2026 to September 2026.
• Selected candidates will be responsible for establishing housing and reliable transportation for the duration of their intern assignment.
• Pursuing a Bachelor or Masters of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Civil (Structural) Engineering, Ocean Engineering, Marine Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, Systems Engineering, Facilities Engineering, Energy Systems Engineering.
