About Department 411 - Life Cycle Support

Life Cycle Support is responsible for the identification and development of integrated logistics support (ILS) products for new acquisition and delivered ships. Life Cycle Support manages ILS planning, and the development, acquisition, integration, and delivery of applicable ILS elements necessary to design, support, and maintain a ship from concept formulation through disposal. Life Cycle Support also performs program oversight and alteration development for all Hull Planning Yard tasking on the OMNIBUS contract.

 

Role Overview

The Life Cycle Support Office of Strategy Management group is looking for the ideal candidate who brings a software/database background to support SharePoint, Microsoft PowerBI, Access Databases, and other software data visualization tools within the Life Cycle Support Directorate.

 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Creation of databases and metric reporting tools, particularly Power BI Data Models and Dashboards
  • Transformation of preexisting LCS Directorate metrics to updated reporting means
  • Increase visibility and accessibility of metric reports to improve communication with internal and external customers
  • Perform analysis and institute common metrics across the Directorate
  • Manage and coordinate alignment of Department Sharepoint websites across the LCS Directorate
  • Understand Data Visualization company initiatives, such as Microsoft PowerBI, and serve as an advocate to facilitate initiatives across the LCS Directorate and Nuclear Ops and Fleet Support organization

Qualifications

Required

  • A Bachelor's degree in Data Analytics, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
  • Experience working with data visualization software
  • Experience with MS Office Suite
  • Experience with SharePoint, SASS, CSS, HTML, etc.

Preferred

  • Advanced education beyond a Bachelor's Degree in data analytics, data visualization, data science, or a related field
  • 2+ years of combined experience in data modeling, data visualization, and/or data reporting
  • Familiarity with EB's data infrastructure, reporting requirements, and business systems
  • Familiarity with Life Cycle Support's products and processes

Skills

 

  • Willingness to become proficient in new software, with an eagerness to learn.

  • Ability to work in a high-paced, team environment
  • Proficiency in developing Power BI data visualizations
  • Highly motivated problem solver who is well organized with proven experience managing projects
  • Demonstrated skills in VBA and relational and object-oriented databases (MS Access, SQL)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
