The Quality Analytics team is a member of Electric Boat’s growing Business Intelligence community, and our products support business expansion and drive productivity throughout the enterprise through the communication of quality performance. The ideal candidate will enable the community’s growth and influence through championing data analytics principles and delivering actionable and reliable products to internal customers.

 

Our team is actively modernizing quality data deliverables, with a strong emphasis on customer engagement and support. The competitive candidate will have examples of demonstrating customer focus, and the ability to convert legacy reporting into intuitive products.


Role Overview


As a member of the Quality Analytics team at Electric Boat, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and sustaining a culture of data-driven management to promote continuous improvement throughout the enterprise.The ideal candidate will be able to turn data into actionable information, and share insights across the corporation by:

  • Conducting, and delivering business analyses to gain insights for improving program productivity and driving business growth
  • Working with internal clients to identify and prioritize key performance indicators to meet overarching business objectives
  • Applying quantitative and qualitative techniques to produce substantiated recommendations and guidance based on data analysis findings

Key Responsibilities

  • Building deep understanding of data sources for data management, utilizing existing analytical tools (Business Objects, PowerBI, etc.) to optimize their functionality, and identifying potential future data sources and metrics requirements
  • Administering databases or other business systems
  • Delivering timely reporting on key metrics and underlying business drivers as specified by management.
  • Interpreting qualitative and quantitative information in order to develop relative insights and determine business implications
  • Planning and organizing coordination of data to meet timelines
  • Working with internal clients to define business needs and advanced analytics project requirements by understanding implicit and explicit business requirements
  • Conducting data analysis, establishing analytical standards, metrics and data visualizations to aid business units in making strategic and tactical decisions, identifying new opportunities and improving set or program performance.
  • Developing and presenting summary findings in clear and concise terms
  • Ensuring the integrity of data accuracy used in the development, analysis and presentation of business analysis metrics and visualizations
  • Providing statistical analysis, business insight and qualitative interpretation of quantitative data
  • Other duties may be assigned

The Data Analyst is entrusted to gather and maintain accurate data and perform meaningful analyses to identify improvements. This will require frequent collaboration with internal stakeholders as well as organizations outside of Audit & Assessment to develop knowledge in a variety of areas and topics.


This position is a full time in office position.

Qualifications

Required

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 1-5 years’ experience in trend identification, data visualization, reporting systems, and identifying key metrics to support strategic business drivers and decision making
  • 1- 5 years’ experience using Power BI

Preferred

  • Bachelors of Science in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Statistics, or related fields
  • Experience using PowerBI and Access databases
  • Experience in submarine construction
  • Understanding of Data Analysis Expressions (DAX)
  • Experience interfacing with Trade personnel, Engineering, Program management and Customer representatives (Navy personnel, SUPSHIP, KAPL, etc.)

Skills

  • Position requires a motivated individual with strong data analysis and trend identification skills
  • Intermediate to Advanced Excel knowledge, Beginner/Intermediate PowerBI knowledge
  • Candidate must be able to combine initiative with professionalism to effectively interface with internal and external customers
  • Candidate must have the ability to work as part of a team
