As Electric Boats backlog and work throughput increase, it becomes increasingly more imperative that the Electric Boat Information Technology (EBIT) organization work the right projects, at the right time, and within schedule and budget in order to support our growing business needs. In support of this goal, the EBIT department has established the EBIT Project Management Office (PMO) that is responsible for the management of projects across all of EBIT.
The EBIT PMO team is responsible for the following:
- Portfolio Planning which includes categorizing projects, evaluating projects, prioritizing projects, balancing project portfolios/programs, selecting the projects to fund, determining funding strategies, and authorizing selected projects.
- Providing guidance for project management processes and best practices for EBIT.
- Performance monitoring of all EBIT projects which involves regular project progress updates, as well as monitoring and analysis of project metrics.
- Strategic Planning and alignment with EB business functional areas' critical business needs.
- Project and Program management for major IT programs such as Integrated Product Development Environment (IPDE), Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), and Facilities/Real Estate.
As the team expands in size and responsibility, the organization is looking for two highly motivated individuals to join the IT leadership team as EBIT PMO Senior Supervisors. One senior supervisor will lead the Execution (project and program management) function of the EBIT PMO and the other senior supervisor will lead the Portfolio Planning function of the EBIT PMO.
Overall Responsibilities of the EBIT PMO Senior Supervisors:
- Manage and motivate EBIT PMO supervisors and team members
- Lead cross-functional teams from project initiation to project close-out
- Support portfolio management, including project prioritization and IT project plan development and maintenance
- Interact-with and influence all levels of the EBIT organization
- Act as a change agent, supporting transformation and continuous process improvement
- Oversee resource and capacity management, including capacity forecasts to support resource allocation and negotiation of future projects
- Manage stakeholder relationships and expectations with EB functional business areas (business partner engagement)
- Govern and standardize EBIT PMO standard operating procedures and templates (PMO ToolKit)
- Provide financial management for IT PMO and IT Department
- Oversee EBIT PMO metrics and performance analysis
- Support training and development of PMO Team
