Overview

The Weld School Supervisor is responsible for the implementation of Operations Trade Training Programs for EB and Navy personnel in the Weld School. Specific assignments include:

 

  • Ensures the readiness of welding booths in the school including 24 structural welding booths, 8 pipe welding booths, 4 grinding booths, 2 brazing booths, 2 seal weld booths and 2 alloy booths
  • Coordinates all Welding Training Programs to include New Hire Training, Structural Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW), Pipe Welding, Refresher and just-in-time training.Monitors training sessions to identify areas for improvement.
  • Reviews Student End of Course Feedback for areas to improve training subject Matter Expert for curriculum development on all Weld School courses of instruction.
  • Supports Coordinating maintenance and upgrades to Weld School Training facilities.
  • Coordinates with Operations to determine needs and deliver training.
  • Administrative coordinator for all Weld School qualification records.
  • Assists off-site locations with welder qualifications.
  • Directs instructors in the preparation and conduct of courses
  • Works closely with the Resource Management organization to ensure smooth transitions of new hires from training to the production floor
  • Procures materials needed to conduct hands on training and maintain mock-ups
  • Oversees instructor development and utilization
  • Supports the implementation of new technology in training delivery
  • Maintains the historical training records
  • Supervises a Training Team of up to 11 including support staff

Qualifications

Required:

  • High School Diploma
  • 3 years of welding experience

Preferred:

  • 2 Years of leadership experience.
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Learning Management System experience
  • Curriculum Development experience
  • Safety program experience
  • OSHA30

Skills

Advanced computer skills (MS Word, Excel and Power Point) to include maintaining document and data files are required.
Must be able to develop and maintain metrics and provide periodic reports.
Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
