The Security Department has an immediate need for highly motivated individuals to serve as a Public Safety Communications Representative. The Public Safety Communications Representative will be responsible for performing a variety of complex duties that include but are not limited to:
- Responsible for the operation of computerized systems and related equipment in the course of serving as the primary point of contact for Electric Boat Security, Electric Boat Fire Department, Contractors, Law Enforcement and Government Personnel.
- Receive and respond to emergency and non-emergency calls from Electric Boat employees, outside vendors, government and guard force personnel via telephone, alarms and radio systems.
- Must independently coordinate appropriate response to emergency incidents and complete appropriate documentation.
- Utilize camera systems, access control and alarms systems to monitor facilities, doors, building perimeters and sensitive areas.
- Radio operations utilizing multi-channel communications with all internal and outlying agencies.
- Ability to triage and prioritize emergency and non-emergency events in a potentially stressful environment.
- Have the ability to effectively communicate and relay information to appropriate personnel.
Must be able to work overtime as needed and maybe mandated due to staffing requirements.
