The Electric Boat Security Department has an opportunity for a highly motivated individual to serve as the Security Representative for the Columbia Class Motor Module Test Program and perform responsibilities of the NNPI Control Officer per OPNAVINST N9210.3.
Daily shipyard production relies on careful planning, frequent communication, and regular interaction between all departments and organizations within Electric Boat and the Government. Each new construction ship is managed by a leadership team consisting of Ships Management, Test Engineering, Program Office, Operations, Planning, Ships Force and SOSG who are directly responsible for the ship’s construction and the achievement of key construction milestones, major moves, test key events, crew integration, certification and delivery.
This position presents a unique opportunity to be a leading member of this team and directly support Columbia Motor Module progression through final assembly, outfitting, test and delivery between Electric Boat Sites (Quonset Point and/or Groton) and the Compatibility Test Facility (CTF) Philadelphia. This is a high visibility position requiring engagement with all levels of management to report progress and manage activities.
NNPI Control Officer, or Naval Nuclear Propulsion Information Control Officer (NNPICO), is a designated professional responsible for ensuring the protection and control of classified information and UNNPI related to the Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program. This position will oversee procedures for handling and securing of this information and will be the key technical advisor for NNPI matters within Electric Boat Corp.
The NNPICO is the primary point of contact for their organization's handling of NNPI. This includes following all NNPI protection procedures, acting as a technical advisor on NNPI-related issues, and ensuring that managers are familiar with the specific protection protocols.
Responsibilities Include:
Represents the Electric Boat Security Department in support of the Columbia Class Motor Module Test Program (MMTP).
The Security Lead for the MMTP will be the primary security point of contact working directly with the Electric Boat Shipyard in Groton, Quonset Point (QP) Rhode Island, Compatibility Test Facility (CTF) Philadelphia and representatives in the New London Engineering Facility on all security matters associated with readiness and execution of the Columbia MMTP at CTF.
The MMTP Security Representative will be expected to actively support responsibilities specific to providing security expertise, guidance and support current and all future CLB MMTP execution to include: verification of security controls in support of Motor Module shipment from QP to CTF during the Motor Module Install and Test Period at CTF. Motor Module removal and return shipment from CTF to Electric Boat (Groton or QP).
