Over the next decade, Electric Boat and the supplier base that supports us must grow the enterprise workforce by thousands of skilled tradesmen and women! Electric Boat is seeking an innovative and results-driven Chief of Branding & Community Engagement to help shape and elevate the public presence of one of the nation’s most respected defense manufacturing organizations. In this role, you will lead strategic brand development, guide creative marketing initiatives, and ensure consistent, compelling messaging that supports Electric Boat’s mission to design, build, and deliver the world’s finest submarines. This job will be to oversee the team that is responsible for:

  • Maintaining brand consistency across all creative assets, ensuring alignment with Electric Boat’s visual identity and messaging standards.
  • Developing & maintaining a consistent recruiting marketing strategy.
  • Vendor & contract management with advertising/marketing agencies & other recruiting vendors.
  • Designing digital and print materials to support recruiting and outreach efforts, including social graphics, event signage, ads, presentations, flyers, and giveaways.
  • Collaborating with internal teams and external partners to develop co-branded materials, campaign assets, and promotional content.
  • Developing and scheduling content across Electric Boat’s social media platforms that highlights hiring needs, events, employee stories, partnerships, and more.
  • Partnering with the Communications team to align messaging and maximize reach through coordinated internal and external storytelling.
  • Tracking analytics & ROI to monitor growth, engagement, and campaign performance.
  • Source, design, and purchase company-branded merchandise (swag) including managing vendor bidding, selection, design, and purchasing.
  • Develop and manage email marketing campaigns, including content creation, scheduling, and performance tracking.
  • Oversee marketing & recruiting application platforms, ensuring accurate content, user access, and ongoing optimization.
  • Partnering with the Talent Acquisition & Recruiting teams to plan and execute EB’s participation in local, regional, and national recruiting events.
  • Facilitating & organizing EB-hosted hiring events, career fairs, and information sessions—managing logistics, design, and event promotion.
  • Advance and expand Electric Boat’s commitment to being an engaged and impactful member of the local community.
  • Facilitate the strategy for the EB contributions committee as well as programming with EB Employee Community Services Association.

Qualifications

Required qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, Marketing, Graphic Design, Advertising, Public Relations, or media related degree
  • 4-14 years of professional experience in communications, marketing, or community engagement

 

Preferred qualifications:

  • EB experience
  • Familiarity with social media management and analytics tools (e.g., Meta Business Suite, Hootsuite, Sprout Social, LinkedIn Campaign Manager).
  • Proficiency with Canva, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), and Microsoft Office.
  • Experience supporting employer branding, event marketing, and/or hiring efforts
  • Familiarity with human resources and staffing processes
  • Client facing experience with strong verbal and written communication skills
