This Program Representative position will play a key role in the business operations of D462 Ship Signatures. D462 is one of the largest engineering departments at Electric Boat and requires an individual who possess strong critical thinking skills and is an excellent team player.
The Ship Signatures department provides engineering support for all Submarine programs at Electric Boat. Current tasking includes design engineering, test, and construction work for COLUMBIA, VIRGINIA and SSN(X) programs, Internal Research and Development (IR&D), contract R&D (CR&D) with ONR and DARPA, fleet support, tool development with internal teams, and management of several classified information systems.
The selected individual will work directly with the Department Managers, Sr. Manager, Supervisors, and other Program Reps in the department to track, analyze, and report on all aspects of the department business.
Responsibilities:
- Collection, analysis, publishing and coordination of cost and schedule metrics via Electric Boat EVMS tools to detect negative trends and provide status to the Department Managers on a weekly basis
- Initiate, track, and complete changes to Artemis tasks through Baseline Change Requests (BCRs)
- Support management team in monitoring and reporting of timely completion of department commitments and objectives
- Collaborate with Department Supervisors to establish causes for negative EVMS trends and aid in formulating recovery plans
- Provide data for or attend Senior Management meetings on EVMS performance for the department for all major programs (CLB, VA, SSNX)
- Support cost, schedule, staffing, and cost reduction “what if” studies as required
- Maintain configuration management and data integrity of the performance analysis tools
Position Abilities:
- The ability to collect, analyze, and track cost and schedule data, over time, from multiple sources and programs at Electric Boat
- The ability to analyze cost and schedule data using Excel pivot tables and macros as well as develop dashboards using PowerBI
- A strong understanding of Earned Value Management System concepts and use in cost & schedule monitoring of large programs
- Ability to identify and implement process improvements regarding data timeliness, accuracy, automation of analysis, and clarity of performance results
- Ability to work independently and maintain rigorous configuration management and data integrity of performance analysis tools
