The Offsite Maintenance and Modernization (M&M) Office in Puget is a hiring Material Coordinator.
This position is responsible for material coordination that supports maintenance work on various construction efforts within the shipyard and shop environments. The Material Coordinator supports all transportation, storage, receipt and issuance of material.
The ideal candidate will cultivate and promote a positive TEAM environment, be highly motivated, demonstrate strong leadership and interpersonal skills, and drive innovation and continuous improvement.
The successful candidate will establish and maintain strong working relationship with the AIT team to ensure performance in safety, quality, schedule, and cost.
This individual will work collaboratively with on-site supervision to achieve department goals. This position requires a strong sense of ownership, responsibility, and accountability to achieve overall success.
Travel will be required to offsite locations to support coordination and oversight of related activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform warehouse duties in the Shop/Shipyard as required to receive and dispatch materials
- Must have good organization skills and maintain material control and segregation.
- Must be willing to learn new skills and apply them as necessary with appropriate training. Candidates will be cross trained in other functions of the business to include, but not limited to: Hazmat control, Label design and fabrication, Transportation and trade technician helper.
- The candidate must possess strong analytical, causal analysis, communication, organizational, planning, and writing skills under minimal supervision
- They will possess an energetic and positive attitude and be willing to change and develop as the requirements of assigned tasks dictate.

- Travel to other shipyards in the continental United States is required. Must be willing to accept extended work assignments. The organization is a traveling team
- Work other than normal duty hours, to include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays. Shift work and emergency overtime may be required
