Overview

This is a non-supervisory position, reporting to the Supervisor of Information Technology (IT) Procurement as part of the IT Procurement group. IT Procurement, working together with the EB Materials Management Organization, is seeking a candidate that will be responsible for all aspects of IT Equipment Management and Inventory. This is a full-time, on-site position currently located in Groton, CT at the Poheganut office. 

The IT Logistics Analyst will be responsible for supporting the Electric Boat Information Technology Department by providing oversight of EBIT’s receiving and logistics for all IT equipment. The successful candidate must be a self-starter and able to work with minimal direction. This individual will be required to make timely and accurate decisions. The IT Logistics Analyst is expected to take ownership of the strategic vision and execution of work with a focus on continuous improvement and inventory management. The successful candidate will be accountable to support the EB Project Management Office and EB IT Procurement in locating, tracking, inventorying and scheduling transporting of equipment 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following: 

  • Oversight of IT process management and movement of material needed to support EB IT operational and project initiatives 
  • Strong understanding of logistics management, material availability analysis, and review of schedules 
  • The position will work closely with EBIT Procurement, IT Suppliers, IT Contractors, and the EB Project Management Office 
  • Work in a team-oriented environment collaborating with IT Finance, IT Procurement, IT PMO, and IT Infrastructure support 
  • Manage supplier relationships and act as point of contact to ensure continuity of technology goods and services 
  • Demonstrated agility in dynamic and evolving environment requiring a shift in priorities 

Qualifications

Required: 

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalency 
  • 2+ years of experience in directly working in supply chain or logistics 
  • Ability to travel between sites that support the Groton and QP Shipyard (Connecticut and Rhode Island) 
  • Demonstrated experience in supporting process improvement initiatives 

 

Preferred: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree 
  • Experience working within IT Inventory Management 
  • Experience in Material Management and Planning 
  • Demonstrated experience in establishing and maintaining metrics
