Program Representative – Supplier Quality Advocate
Location: Mobile, AL
Reports To: Focus Factory Program Supervisor
Position Overview:
This onsite role at the Strategic Sourcing Focus Factory in Mobile, AL is responsible for providing quality oversight for contracted work performed at a supplier facility using Electric Boat processes and procedures. The Program Representative will serve as the secondary point of contact to Quality Management in Quonset Point and Groton and will lead quality initiatives, ensure compliance with contractual requirements, and support program reviews and status meetings.
The successful candidate will have knowledge of structural fabrication processes, work completion documentation requirements, and Electric Boat business systems related to work completion and noncompliance documentation. This role requires close collaboration with Quality Management, onsite quality organizations (including NDT, Welding Engineering, Inspection, Audit and Assessment), Operations, Deckplate Engineering, and the Strategic Sourcing Program Office.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead all Quality efforts at the Focus Factory and act as a key contact for Quality Management in Groton and Quonset Point
• Report on and provide recommendations regarding the health of the Focus Factory
• Ensure procedural compliance in day‑to‑day operations
• Support mentoring and learning on the deckplate
• Participate in Quality Briefings
• Ensure qualifications are maintained and procedure changes are communicated and implemented correctly
• Support development and reporting of quality metrics
• Collaborate with Operations and Strategic Sourcing Program Office to understand project and work status
• Attend daily Plan of Day and Turnover meetings
• Support analysis and resolution of unplanned events
• Maintain highly interactive relationships with all quality support functions within the Focus Factory
Qualifications:
The QA Program Representative must:
• Be an excellent communicator, able to articulate thought processes and provide constructive critique
• Work effectively in a team environment to support Navy and Electric Boat goals
• Understand business systems and construction requirements to anticipate downstream and upstream impacts
• Enforce exact compliance with requirements and quality standards
• Be solution‑oriented but willing to say “no” when necessary
• Maintain a strong questioning attitude
