About the Department:
Electric Boat Department 403 Technical Writing is seeking a dedicated individual to lead the Reactor Plant Planning Yard team. This team is responsible for the management of Propulsion Plant Technical Manuals under the cognizance of Naval Reactors including Component Technical Manuals, Programmatic Manuals, and Ship Systems Manuals supporting Fleet Boats, the Moored Training Ships, and the S8G Prototype. This team also supports development of Alteration Instructions for the fleet under Naval Reactors Cognizance.
Technical Manuals are one of the few products produced by the Reactor Plant Planning Yard that are used by the sailor daily. This team of Technical Writers, Editors, and Technical Leads ensures technical quality of manual and instruction products while meeting the requirements of Naval Reactors. Technical Writing researches, writes, and publishes system level and component level technical descriptions and procedures for all submarine classes
Role Overview:
The Reactor Plant Planning Yard Technical Writing Supervisor will support a team of Technical Writers to support the Reactor Plant Planning Yard Engineering teams to publish all manuals under Electric Boats cognizance as Technical Manual Maintenance Activity supporting Naval Reactors. The Supervisor guides and grows Writers, Editors, and Technical Leads to improve capabilities and ensure stability to delivering to Naval Reactors expectations. The Supervisor additionally leads the Reactor Plant Planning Yard Engineering teams in understanding and executing their responsibilities to maintain manuals
