  • Evaluate supplier manufacturing processes, controls, and adherence to mechanical specifications
  • Support investigations for supplier-related nonconformances, pump performance issues, and mechanical failures
  • Ensure compliance with AS9100, ISO 9001, DFARS, ITAR, and flow‑down requirements
  • Work with internal engineering teams to clarify pump design intent, tolerances, materials, and assembly practices for suppliers
  • Drive supplier corrective actions and monitor effectiveness
  • Track supplier KPIs (quality, delivery, technical performance) and lead improvement initiatives
  • Provide technical guidance to suppliers on machining, casting, assembly, testing, and inspection methods relevant to pump systems
  • Maintain documentation and supplier performance records per defense program requirements

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
  • Minimum 5 years of post-graduate engineering experience
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a manufacturing or supply chain environment
  • Hands‑on experience with pumps, rotating machinery, hydraulics, fluid systems, or precision mechanical components
  • Willingness to travel to supplier facilities
  • Ability to obtain a DoD security clearance

Preferred:

  • Advanced degree in Engineering or Supply Chain Management
  • Experience supporting pump OEMs, defense primes, or DoD programs
  • Lean or Six Sigma certification
  • Active DoD security clearance

Skills

  • Strong knowledge of machining, castings, tolerance analysis, GD&T, and mechanical inspection
  • Familiarity with defense compliance requirements including DFARS, ITAR, and CUI
  • Proficiency in root-cause analysis tools (5‑Why, FMEA, etc.)
  • Ability to read complex mechanical drawings and technical data packages
  • Excellent communication, technical writing, and project management skills
  • Demonstrated ability to build productive technical relationships with suppliers
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities, including guiding cross‑functional teams, mentoring peers, or leading supplier‑focused technical initiatives
