Job Description:

Be a part of the our growing transportation department and help power the mission.

Duties would include the operation of a wide variety of equipment including forklifts, stake trucks, van, tanker trucks, and box type trucks. Requirements include pick-up, delivery and moving large diverse loads within the shipyard, at our off site locations, at the sub base, and on public highways. 

Role also requires participation in snow removal efforts, hand sorting, material scanning to receive and dispatch material deliveries, delivering carriable and/or palletized material from various warehouses and offices, working in unheated environments, Sensitive Material Knowledge, procedural compliance and the ability to qualify for a TLD (J-training provided). Job requires a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class B or Higher.  Air brake endorsement required.  A bus and/or hazmat endorsement to the individual’s CDL would be desirable. 

• Applicant must have a clean, safe driving record. 
• Applicant must be able to obtain drug/alcohol testing. 
• Applicant must be able to work any shift.

Required: 

• High school diploma, GED or 2+ years of related technical experience 
• 5+ years of driving or warehouse experience
• Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class B or Higher
• Air brake endorsement
• Ability to obtain a TLD with training
• Ability to work all shifts based on business needs

Preferred: 

• Bus and/or Hazmat endorsement on CDL
• Forklift Certification
• Experience with material tracking via computer and hand-held scanner

Skills: 

• Clean safe driving record
• Basic Computer Proficiency
