Overview

The Offsite Maintenance and Modernization Program Office is hiring a Site Manager for “D779 Florence South Carolina at SteelFab” in support of our Strategic Partner SteelFab. This position is responsible for the management of NEWCON work at the facility and reporting to the Sr. Site Manager.  The candidate must cultivate and promote a positive TEAM environment, be highly motivated with strong interpersonal skills, and drive innovation and continuous improvement.

 

The successful candidate will be responsible for establishing a strong working relationship with the supplier management team to drive safety, quality, schedule, cost.  The selected candidate will be responsible to provide management and technical shipbuilding “know-how” to the supplier and the EB embedded workforce utilizing EB processes, procedures, and work paper.  Candidate must work collaboratively with on-site supervision to support the department goals. They will also be expected to apply corrective actions to address deficiencies.  Candidate must have a strong sense of ownership, responsibility, and accountability for the partnership. 

 

Some travel may be required to attend meetings.

 

In addition to the above, the selected candidate will also be responsible for:

  • Developing leadership and employees and establishing robust succession plans
  • Leading knowledge transfer
  • Managing the problem resolution process
  • Identifying significant (including Level 1) problems
  • Providing trend analysis

Qualifications

Required:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 4+ years of supervisory/managerial experience with direct reports
  • 8+ years of Electric Boat experience in manufacturing, overhaul and repair or program office
  • 1+ years of NEWCON experience
  • Must be able to obtain DOD Secret clearance

Preferred:

  • 10 years of supervisory/managerial experience
  • Offsite operational / execution experience
  • Experience supplier/vendor oversight
  • Experience working with MRP, EWP, Artemis, and EVM
  • Steel construction experience 

Skills

  • Highly organized with the ability to multitask and constantly changing environment.
  • Ability to coordinate across multiple disciplines
  • Must be an effective writer/reviewer of technical correspondence
  • Strong communicator with the ability to balance priorities.
  • Computer skills including MS Office
  • Proven ability to communicate with all levels of EB and the customer for NEWCON classes.
